The IBAGS XV meeting will begin on the afternoon of Sunday 6 December 2026 by showcasing translational research through a joint clinical/science programme focused on Neuromodulation. That evening will be the official opening of IBAGS, featuring keynote addresses from our newly elected Lifetime members, followed by a meet and greet social event. The next four days (7, 8, 9 and 10 December) will consist of a further 11 plenary sessions and a number of poster sessions. Keeping with the collaborative and inclusive spirit of IBAGS, there will be no parallel sessions. The session topics have now been finalised by the Council and the Local organising committee, as below (speakers will be invited early in the new year).
(1) Neuromodulation techniques in basal ganglia disorders: clinical application and scientific underpinnings
(2) Cell-type mapping and microcircuit mechanisms
(3) Basal ganglia: from cells to behaviour
(4) Novel monoamine mechanisms in the basal ganglia
(5) Basal ganglia learning and reward
(6) Computational modelling and analytics
(7) Basal ganglia non-motor function and dysfunction
(8) New discoveries in the basal ganglia: molecules, circuitry, and connectivity
(9) Pathway dysfunction and therapies
(10) In vitro models of basal ganglia
(11) The human basal ganglia in health and disease: genetics, biomarkers, brain imaging, pathology
(12) Panel session: beyond the basal ganglia – current topics in science
We look forward to seeing you all at IBAGS XV!
